Mindibungu Aboriginal Corporation (Mindi) is the administration
arm of Billiluna, a remote indigenous community with a population
of approximately 220, located in the East Kimberley of Western
Australia, 175 km south of Halls Creek.
The community layout includes a store, clinic, education centre,
youth centre, internet café / resource centre, entertainment
centre, guest accommodation and sport areas. The community is
adjacent to a large pastoral lease area.
The challenging role of managing Mindi will appeal to a
volunteer-minded person or couple who can readily adapt to living
in a remote environment. You will possess a 'can do' practical
approach within a positive frame of mind and be able to manage a
wide range of responsibilities.
These vary from coordinating fuel supplies and sales to managing
maintenance and security within the community to supervising the
Centrelink agency and meals-on-wheels program along with financial
reporting to the Council and community.
Experience in all aspects of the management of a small business
or non-government organisation, combined with positive motivation
to be involved in every aspect of the operation as well as
promoting and advocating for the well-being of all Billiluna's
residents will be key to success in this interesting
position.
