Australian Volunteers International (AVI) invites community,
regional, rural media around Australia to be a part of its United
Nations' International Volunteer Day (5 December) celebrations.
In 2009, AVI's International Volunteer Day celebrations are all
about "sharing a world of experience". More than 7000
returned AVI volunteers live in communities around Australia and
have an amazing story to tell about living and working in
developing countries throughout Asia, the Pacific, Africa and the
Middle East.
Since 1951, AVI has recruited, managed and supported skilled
Australians working on long term assignments around the world.
These Australians of all ages and backgrounds come from rural,
regional and urban communities around the country.
So celebrate International Volunteer Day with AVI, by sharing
the international volunteering stories of Australians living in
your local communities.
