AusAID launches Annual Report

The commitment of the Australian aid program to Pacific neighbours and developing communities is highlighted with the release of AusAID's 2010/11 Annual Report today. Key activities of the year include the launch of the Australian Volunteers for International Development program.

Launched in May 2011 by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kevin Rudd, the Australian Volunteers program aims to increase opportunities for Australians to volunteer overseas and bring Australia's overseas volunteer programs under one readily identifiable brand.

Australian Volunteers International, Australian Red Cross and Austraining International are working in partnership with AusAID to deliver the Australian Volunteer program.

Within the Annual Report, AusAID highlight Australia's humanitarian and emergency efforts around the globe, the launch of the Australian Civillian Corps and our country's achievements against the Millennium Development Goals' targets.
