Adviser needed in English teaching program for Palestinian refugees

Ever wanted to lend your teaching adviser skills to a program for refugees?

UNRWA (United Nations Refugee and Works Agency) is seeking a volunteer to work in its Beirut office in Lebanon.

UNRWA Lebanon Field Education Department is seeking an Australian Volunteer to work with them to continue and expand the capacity-building of the primary schools in using English as the language of instruction for subjects other than English.

The volunteer will continue the work of previous Australian Volunteers, and work alongside local and British Council colleagues.

To contribute to the project, the volunteer will need to contribute expertise and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Extensive experience in English as a Second Language in schools (primary level preferred) - teaching, curriculum development and learning materials development
  • Applied expertise in teacher training, including evaluation of teacher training programs
  • Able to anticipate the challenges you would face living and working as a Volunteer with UNWRA in Beirut.
