Herb Feith All Stars
From 11-16 September 2011, AVI returned volunteer Tim Stats takes on the gruelling Tour de Timor, all in the name of fundraising and a love of extreme adventure.
The annual six day, 607 km event which takes hundreds of cyclists across Timor to promote peace. sees Tim return to Timor as part of the Herb Feith All Stars, a volunteer cycling tribute to 60 years of AVI and the pioneering journey of AVI's first volunteer Herb Feith in 1951.
Joined by current volunteers David Natoli and Julie Souness the team will also raise funds for the AVI / ETWA Los Palos Sustainability Centre Project.

About the Los Palos Sustainability Centre
The Los Palos Sustainbility Centre is an initiative of Cooperative for Tais, Culture and Sustainable Development (Cooperativa Tais, Kultura, Desenvolvimento Sustenavel or CTKDS).
ETWA, with the support of Australian volunteers works with the Cooperative for Tais, Culture and Sustainable Development (Cooperativa Tais, Kultura, Desenvolvimento Sustenavel or CTKDS). The purpose of the ETWA-CTKDS partnership is to support the socio-economic well-being, self-sustainability and cultural empowerment of East Timorese women through community oriented programs, particularly in the handcrafts industry.
This fundraising activity will help build a Sustainability Centre in Los Palos which will allow for further research and development of tais products to assist women involved in enterprise projects, provide training programs and facilities for skills building and capacity development, and a central meeting place for collaboration and community support programs.
