English Language Adviser: Curriculum Support
Here's a rare opportunity for a short-term volunteering assignment in Lebanon in the Education sector.
The United Nations Refugee and Works Agency's (UNRWA) mandate is to provide basic services in the areas of health, education, relief and social services to registered (and some non registered) Palestinian refugees in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank.
Following a successful UNRWA-sponsored study program to Australia by two Palesrtinian educators recently, there is now a need for a short-term volunteer to assist with processing and adapting the knowledge and materials that was acquired during their visit in order to suit local conditions. The educators specifically focused on two areas: (1) assessment methods in English and (2) English as a language of instruction as part of its overall education reform program. This assignment will focus mainly on the Lower and Upper Elementary cycles.
The position would be well-suited to someone with experience in teaching/administration of ESL within the Australian school education system and a strong interest in the Middle East. If you feel that you match these requirements, we would be very interested to hear from you.
