• Get back to what’s its all about!
• Continue the work of an Australian Volunteer
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services oversees and manages health care and medical services in Solomon Islands, including health education and promotion.
The National Referral Hospital is the main health care facility in Solomon Islands. Internal Medicine is one of the core departments in the Hospital and it runs the diabetes centre, the TB/leprosy ward, an acute care ward, a medical referral clinic, an echo clinic and a general medical ward.
Due to a shortage of locally trained staff, a suitably qualified volunteer is required to join the team at the Hospital. This assignment will include daily ward duties as well as assisting in the training of interns, residents and nurses.
Some travel to regional centres will also be required. You will be suitably qualified and experienced and be willing to work in a challenging environment with limited resources.
