Position Description Communication, Awareness and Fundraising Advisor

7 month assignment to promote and support sustainable management!


Natural Resources Development Foundation (NRDF) is a local Non-Governmental Organization that promotes and supports sustainable management and use of forest and other natural resources by local landowners. Besides setting up sawmill operations for sustainable timber production, it supports communities in livelihood projects, reforestation projects and establishing conservation areas to protect high value rainforest areas and climate change / REDD+. Work is specifically focussed on six project areas (partnerships) in Choiseul and Western provinces.

NRDF seek an Australian Volunteer to empower and deliver on promotional and campaign material including posters, DVD’s, Website, TV and Radio programs about interventions in project areas.

The volunteer will need to bring communications skills in the following areas:

  • Experience in the development of promotional material for small organisations for a variety of audiences and media types
  • Experience working with small scale NGOs
  • Experience working in the field of natural resources management
  • Skills in the development of funding and fundraising strategies for small scale NGOs

In addition to professional expertise, successful volunteers demonstrate their skills in training & developing others, applied awareness and sensitivity to cross-cultural communication, patience, tolerance and flexibility.
