The Republic of Palau, a north Pacific Island nation, is situated 800 kms east of the Philippines and 3000 kms south of Tokyo. It has a population of 20,000 that is significantly increased by tourists attracted to its diving and natural beauty.

In Palau 8 out of 10 deaths can now be attributed to Non Communicable Diseases. Palau Ministry of Health will welcome your background in developing public health nutrition strategies. There is little knowledge or capacity to provide the appropriate information about nutrition and its vital role in fighting NCD’s.

As well as developing a Nutritional Strategic Plan in conjunction with the NCD Program, you will create a training program and education modules for Ministry employees, building their capacity to pass these skills on to the community. You will contribute to public health advertisements and health promotion messages regarding dietary habits and provide education workshops at local schools to promote healthy eating.

Use your tertiary qualifications, skills in formal and informal training and demonstrated success in collecting, interpreting and translating research data into evidence based public health nutrition practice in this important role.
