Nurse Trainer (Health Care Centre) |
• Grassroots community health care assignment
• Live and work in beautiful
Baucau Fundação Lafaek Diak (FLD) is a non-profit community development agency that seeks to work among people suffering poverty and conflict. It operates in the areas of agriculture, health, education and small business development.
In 2006 and in response to a community request, FLD renovated and re-established the community clinic in Triloka. The clinic provides health care to around 1400 patients a month. The clinic also has a mobile clinic that operates once a week to 4 remote communities.
Following on from the work of an AVI Management Trainer, this position is designed to specifically up-skill staff in the health clinic with their clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills. This will include assisting staff in the development of their consultation, diagnosis and treatment skills and the health education needs of the staff and patients.
The successful applicant will have relevant qualifications and experience and have previous experience developing the skills of others through formal and/or informal training and coaching. An understanding of community health care health promotion principles and approaches and experience in working with people of different cultural background will also be required. This is a rural placement so a willingness and ability to operate in remote, under resourced environments will be well regarded.
