Position Description Fundraising Adviser

Do you have strategic fundraising experience?  Would you like to create marketing plans that ensure a better future for disadvantaged communities?


Karitas Indonesia keuskupan Agung Semarang (KARINIKAS) is a church based organisation with a focus on the spirit of caring for each other in order to improve the lives of those in the community. The organisations work is not religion based and the organisation works with all sectors of the community.

KARINAKAS is an organisation which was founded in 2006 after a major earthquake in Jogjakarta. The Bishop of Semarang Archdiocese requested that KARINAKAS should help those affected by the quake to empower themselves.

The main work of the organisation includes; Disaster Risk Reduction, Community base Rehabilitation for people living with a disability and Community Development Initiatives. KARINAKAS now seeks to appoint an experienced fundraising professional to develop a fundraising strategy and increase capacity to identify opportunities, through the development of funding proposals.

To be considered for this position, you will require:

• BA Degree in Economics, Public Relations, Social Sciences or extensive practical experience coupled with relevant qualifications in a similar field
• Demonstrated success in building the skills of others through formal and/or informal training and coaching
• Demonstrated success in consulting with stakeholders and facilitating the work of others to achieve an agreed outcome
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic fundraising strategies.
• The ability to communicate and (network) socialise effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders with confidence

Personal attributes must include the ability to cope with cultural isolation, a willingness to learn the local language and a good understanding and appreciation of the Indonesian lifestyle.
