Senior Legal Project Mentor - Anti Corruption
Use your anti-corruption and legal project management skills and experience and assist in the task of educating and empowering all Papua New Guineans regardless of who they are or where they are from, to make an active choice against corruption.
The Advocacy & Legal Advice Centre’s (ALAC) is one of the most dynamic new anti-corruption intervention experiments by the global TI movement. There are now 36 ALACs in 16 countries, the majority in Eastern Europen countries and provides free legal services and assistance to victims and witnesses of corruption. In Papua New Guinea’s ALAC this is combined with the awareness work-plan for the program that sees a significant amount of travel to the provinces.
TI have identified a need fore a Legal Project Management Advisor to ensure the procedures are in place to adequately manage the processing of complaints and to, as a consequence, ensure lobbying strategies are devised and implemented to ensure systemic institutional changes are effected as a result.
This is a specialist position and to be considered for this position, you will require:
- Appropriate University Qualifications in Law with a specialised Post Graduate Project Management focusing on Legal Project Management
- Substantial Experience as a legal practitioner
- Demonstrated history and familiarity working with modest resources while achieving legal outcomes and objective.
Experience as a mentor working in areas of legal projects.
- Project management experience which includes; project planning and design.
- Experience with NGOs working in community empowerment and advocacy. Commitment to the values of TIPNG
Personal attributes must include the ability to cope with cultural isolation, a willingness to learn the local language and a good understanding and appreciation of the Melanesian lifestyle.
